Snowdon Guided Walks

There are numerous paths up Snowdon and we offer guided walks for all of them, throughout the year. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and it's one of our most famous and regonizable landmarks so is understandably very popular. Overlooking the village of Llanberis, Snowdon offers views along the North Wales coastline, the Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges and across to Anglesey. Your local guide will take care of the navigation and pace of the day but will also enrich your adventure with local knowledge, tales of legends and folklore as well as look after the safety element.

The cost is an inclusive day rate which means when you book, it is exclusively booked for you alone or for you and up to 7 additional members of your group.

Please contact us for private guiding days and larger group discounts. We offer these walks through summer and winter and we can arrange a date to suit you.

Here's what Michelle from London thought of her guided walk on Snowdon:

"Highly recommend booking with Anelu Aim Higher. We booked a guided climb of Yr Wyddfa and from the advance kit list, pre-climb safety check to the photos at the end of the day, Stephen ran a totally professional day and took great care of us. He was kind and encouraging as he kept our family literally on track! His knowledge of the mountain, the region, its history, myths, flora and fauna really enhanced our climb. Also grateful for Stephen's kit bag, which came to the rescue a couple of times, once for a detached boot sole! Thanks so much for a memorable day, Stephen."

Guided Walk Description

We offer guided walks along all the major paths to Snowdon but here's how a typical day on our walk along the PYG track and down the Llanberis path on Snowdon would be like:

You'll meet your guide at the village of Llanberis at 08.45 for a kit check and finalise plans for the day.

The exact route will depend on the current weather conditions and other factors but our preferred route involves taking public transport from Llanberis to Pen y Pass (ticket included) and walking the PYG track to the summit.

The PYG track is a route that brings us into the heart of Snowdon. It meanders it's way up through stunning scenery and mountain slopes. Although much of the walk is on an established path there are areas where the use of your hands are required to move along safely. After spending some time at the summit area, we descend the Llanberis path which offers fantastic views over to Anglesey.

The total distance walked can be between 7 and 9 miles.You should be prepared to walk between five and seven hours over mountain terrain but at a steady, manageable pace. Don't worry if you aren't super fit but it does help to have a basic level of fitness so that you enjoy your day. Please contact us if you are unsure or would like advice.

The cost is an inclusive day rate which means when you book, it is exclusively booked for you alone or for you and up to 7 additional members of your group. This means unlike other companies, we won't cancel your booking because of insufficient numbers. We keep our ratios low so that you get a personal, quality experience and whether you are a solo traveller or you bring some friends along, we'll make sure that you are looked after. We hold the Eryri Gold Ambassador Award and are Yr Wyddfa Visit Specialist which means we have invested time and effort in improving our knowledge so that you get a first class experience.

Please contact us for private guiding days and larger group discounts. We offer these walks through summer and winter and we can arrange a date to suit you.

Note: All our staff live in Snowdonia, are qualified, insured, experienced and hold current first aid qualifications.

Guided Walk Schedule

Guided Walk Reviews

Invaluable, would highly recommend Stephen and the service he offers. Excellent value for money. We booked Stephen to add some colour and local detail whilst we climbed Snowdon to celebrate Mum's birthday, but what we got was so much more than that. Stephen is not only informative, with many stories and facts about Snowdon and the surrounding area, but what we hadn't considered, was that his presence would allow us to enjoy the climb so much more because we didn't have to think about pace, the distance, having breaks, anything...we could just embrace the climb knowing expert hands were taking care of us. Having now been bitten by the mountsun climbing bug, we'd like to try Scafell and Ben Nevis and will definitely be using a guide, hopefully through Anelu Aim Higher. Don't climb Snowdon without him, he's worth every penny.

I researched Anelu Aim Higher from Canada and could not have been happier I chose them. Steve was very helpful with the booking and prompt and professional with all email correspondence. On the day we climbed Snowdon Steve was fantastic. He was really helpful and supportive and helped me summit providing poles and managing my pace as my quads burned! I always felt safe in his hands. He is also a very knowledgeable guide who knows local history and geology and it was a great experience. Being guided up Snowdon by an experienced local Welshman who is a great ambassador for both the outdoors and Wales was a fantastic experience. I can give Anelu Aim Higher my strongest recommendation. Thanks Steve for a great day on Snowdon!

1 year on and photos popped up on my fb. What an amazing day we had, cannot recommend Steve enough from transport to helping us get to the summit of Snowdon. I'm afraid of heights but knew I wanted to conquer my fear, Steve helped and encouraged me all the way and keeping a great sense of humour. He makes me want to climb more over and over again. Thankyou for your skills and knowledge. Let's do it again
