Carneddau Guided Walks

Experience the wild, rolling mountains of the Carneddau with our guided walks. We will take you to lesser visited areas, with stunning views across to Anglesey, Snowdon , the Glyderau and further afield. The Carneddau are home to rare habitats and archaeological remains and there's always the chance of catching a glimpse of a Kestrel or Red Kite along your journey! Our Carneddau guided walks offer a more remote feeling and are not to be underestimated but our guides are qualified, experienced and insured and we offer these walks throughout the year so you'll be in safe hands!

The cost is an inclusive day rate which means when you book, it is exclusively booked for you alone or for you and up to 7 additional members of your group.

Please contact us for private guiding days and larger group discounts. We offer these walks through summer and winter and we can arrange a date to suit you.

Here's what Dafydd from Conwy had to say about his group's guided walk on the Carneddau:

"Thanks for a great day Steve. It's great to go out in the mountains and visit places I haven't been to for many years. We'll see you again soon!"

Guided Walk Description

We offer guided walks over all areas of the Carneddau but here's how a typical day on our walk from Bethesda to Carnedd Llyweleyn would be like:

We will take you from the village of Bethesda in the Ogwen Valley, across the Northern flank of the Carneddau to summit Bera Bach, Carnedd Gwenllian, Foel Grach and Carnedd Llewelyn.

Your guide will point out features relating to history, geology and nature that surround you as part of your day.

Our return route will primarily depend on the weather but we will return to the village of Bethesda.

A challenging day out but a very rewarding one which offers a truly remote experience!

This walk is about 10 miles and is suitable for regular hillwalkers.

You should be prepared to walk between six and eight hours in mountain terrain but at a steady, manageable pace.

The cost is an inclusive day rate which means when you book, it is exclusively booked for you alone or for you and up to 7 additional members of your group. This means unlike other companies, we won't cancel your booking because of insufficient numbers. We keep our ratios low so that you get a personal, quality experience and whether you are a solo traveller or you bring some friends along, we'll make sure that you are looked after. We hold the Eryri Gold Ambassador Award which means we have invested time and effort in improving our knowledge so that you get a first class experience.

Please contact us for private guiding days and larger group discounts. We offer these walks through summer and winter and we can arrange a date to suit you.

Note: All our staff live in Snowdonia, are qualified, insured, experienced and hold current first aid qualifications.

Guided Walk Schedule

  • 9am meet and greet at Bethesda
  • 9.30am set off for our walk
  • 5.30pm arrive back at Bethesda

All timings on the mountain are approximate.

Full details will be sent upon receipt of your booking form and payment.

Guided Walk Reviews

Thanks for a great day Steve. It's great to go out in the mountains and visit places I haven't been to for many years. We'll see you again soon!
Dafydd from Conwy

The Carneddau are amazing! The views we had were fantastic and we were surprised at how quiet they are - hardly anyone around. Thanks Steve!
